Introduction:
This collection consists of pension lists for Confederate
veterans and widows from the early twentieth century. Also, a
number of original applications for pensions by widows and veterans
alike are included, providing detailed information about the lives
of those in the Confederate Army during and after the Civil War.

Description
The Confederate
Veterans and Widows Pensions Collection contains mostly
pension lists from approximately 1918 to 1934. These documents
list name, amount paid, and the address of the petitioner. In
addition, death lists are included at the end of each year. The
collection also contains soldiers and widows applications
for pensions, usually dating from 1897-1907. These documents give
exceptionally detailed information of soldiers war experiences.
