Box City is an interdisciplinary activity in community planning developed by the Center for Understanding the Built Environment (CUBE) where children plan and build their own city. The program incorporates urban planning, architecture, civics, art, history and math and can be adapted to almost any age or group size. Box City is a fun hands-on activity that your students will never forget!
The DeKalb History Center is currently developing our Box City program and it will be ready for the schools by the end of 2009. If you'd like to bring Box City to your classroom or have any questions about the program please contact the Heritage Education Coordinator at dhs@dekalbhistory.org or 404-373-1088 ext. 20.
