Heritage Festival
The DeKalb History Center's Heritage Festival, a special field grip for 5th grade students, is held in the fall every year at the Historic Complex. Students step back in time to the 1800s when they meet Benjamin Swanton, Mary Gay, Nancy Hart and Charlotte Forten among others. They also observe weavers and spinners and get to produce a period craft such as candle making.
