for Elizabeth Wilson On March 12, 2006, the DeKalb History Center presented former Decatur Mayor Elizabeth Wilson with its History Maker Award for her efforts to desegregate City of Decatur schools and libraries. In addition, the community raised funds to create a scolarship in Elizabeth Wilson's name which will be presented to a Decatur student each year. The History Maker Award is presented every two years to an individual who has made significant contributions to his or her contributions whether those actions were popular at the time. Close Window |
